As a key technical leader at King ICT, I drove the modernization of Croatia's most critical digital infrastructure. I led the development of the 'Single Administrative Point' for the e-Citizens platform, unifying government services for millions of users. Simultaneously, I architected and led the team building the next-generation Electronic Toll Collection (ENC) system for Croatian Highways and the e-Ticketing system for public transport in Split, processing millions of transactions and enabling real-time mobility solutions.

Challenge
Delivering high-availability, mission-critical government and transport systems that must serve the entire population securely, reliably, and in real-time. This involved creating a unified platform for various government services while ensuring security, compliance with eIDAS standards, and integration with existing systems. Simultaneously, modernizing both urban public transport and nationwide highway toll systems while ensuring real-time capabilities, system reliability, and excellent user experience, all while managing multiple development teams across interconnected projects.
Solution
Architected scalable microservices solutions that bridge modern tech stacks with complex legacy systems. Implemented a secure platform integrated with NIAS (National Identification and Authentication System) and e-Citizens infrastructure, with support for digital forms and payment processing. For transport, architected and implemented comprehensive solutions including real-time vehicle tracking, mobile apps for tickets and toll payments, and sophisticated backend systems. Optimized database performance and implemented secure authentication while ensuring seamless integration with various third-party services.
